Around 200 gallons of gasoline are believed to have spilled from an overturned tanker in Carle Place.

The Nassau Fire Marshal's Office says that just after 8 p.m., the Westbury Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash involving a 12,000-gallon gasoline tanker on Old Country Road and Clinton Road.

The tanker was carrying a full load and had flipped on its side.

One person was reported injured, according to the fire marshals.

Fire marshals say the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation has been notified of the spill.

The DEC states the amount that has spilled has not been confirmed and that there are no known surface waters affected at this time.
