A senior citizen was killed after being hit by a truck in Suffolk County Wednesday afternoon.

Suffolk Police Second Squad detectives say Surinder Kour, 93, of Dix Hills, was walking northbound on Seneca Court around 2 p.m.

The victim was subsequently struck by a landscaping truck that was backing up on that roadway.

Kour was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, where she was pronounced dead, according to police.

The Huntington Station man who was driving the vehicle was not hurt.

Police tell News 12 the truck was inspected at the scene by Motor Carrier Safety Section officers and no charges have been filed against the driver at this time.
