A man is accused of stealing bottles of soap from an East Meadow laundromat, shoving an employee and later attacking officers after his arrest, according to Nassau police.

Police say 34-year-old Michael Torres pushed a laundromat employee to gain access to a vestibule at Rapid 2 Laundromat Sunday night, then took two bottles of soap and tried to leave.

Officers took Torres to a local hospital, where police say he became violent and combative, kicking and flailing his arms and legs, injuring officers.

The officers were treated at the scene.

Torres is charged with burglary and two counts of assault.
