WHAT TO KNOW
Today is less hot and mostly cloudy in Brooklyn with just a slight chance for a shower by the afternoon. However, rain will return this weekend especially late Saturday into Sunday morning. It's a gloomy weekend, but not a total washout. Next week starts off absolutely beautiful with some of our nicest weather of the summer possible on Monday and Tuesday!
REST OF TODAY
A few showers will return this evening with a mix of sun and clouds and high temperatures near 80-degrees. Overnight lows tonight will drop into the mid 60s.
SATURDAY SHOWERS
Saturday is the wettest day of the stretch, but it's not a total washout. Expect mostly cloudy skies and temperatures generally in the 70s for most of the day. With enough sunshine it will approach 80-degrees. The best chance for rain Saturday will come in the evening, but there could come with light rain and drizzle in the morning, worth knowing if you're headed to Summer Streets on Eastern Parkway, which closes to cars from 9am to 5pm.
At this time, severe weather is less likely on Saturday, but a few thunderstorms are possible in the evening which could produce localized flooding. If you have outdoor plans, the safest bet is scheduling them for earlier in the day, before showers and any thunderstorms move in during the evening.
SUNDAY'S BETTER
Showers are possible Sunday morning, but peeks of sunshine could return by the afternoon. Watch out for a pop up afternoon storm. A cold front will move through and could bring a few isolated downpours midday with some sunshine mixed in between. One or 2 storms could be strong, but it does not look like an all day washout.
SUNNY NEXT WEEK
Plenty of sunshine is expected on Monday & Tuesday with pleasantly cool mornings near 60-degrees and afternoon highs near 80-degrees, about as good as it gets for a stroll around Prospect Park. Rain will return next Wednesday night into Thursday.
