Two dogs that got loose are now safe after one of them had to be rescued from the water in Massapequa.

Officers responded to a report of two loose German shepherds near Division Avenue and Bayview Place just after midnight.

One dog was found struggling in the water along the backyards of Forest Avenue but was safely pulled out.

Both dogs were not hurt and were released to their owner.
